A warm hello to my readers! Thank you so much for stopping by…
Allow me to tell you a bit about myself. I am a wheelchair user in my 40’s, affected by Cerebral Palsy. One of my favorite things to do is give seminars on disability awareness and disability empowerment. I have advocated for equal access, with equal passion, to restaurant managers and the governor. When the pot needs stirring, I am often “that girl”. Grin! In the past, I have been active in wheelchair sports and wheelchair ballroom dance, and the “loves of my life” include two amazing service dogs! I’m starting this journey because I want to feel better, and hopefully, learn a thing or two along the way.
When I talk about health, I do so broadly. That is, I want to improve physically, emotionally and spiritually. I plan on sharing some of my personal stories, lessons learned, and people I admire. I also want to ask tough questions, and share and examine my views as a woman with a disability in today’s society Please give me feedback as you feel inclined.
So, if you are old enough to remember who shot J.R. and the relationship between television and tin foil, we might have a few things in common. If you can name all the Spice Girls and every movie the Olsen twins ever made, your views and experience might be somewhat different, but no less important, than mine. Wherever you are in your journey, I invite you to share this one with me. I am excited to see where this road might lead. I don’t know yet if there is a specific destination, or we will simply enjoy the scenery. The only thing I know for sure is that I plan on enjoying the ride…
Let’s get started. I am exceptionally glad you are here!
