Target’s latest ad for Halloween features a little girl on crutches front and center on the page, dressed as Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen.”
To me, this is inclusion at it’s finest. Nobody is highlighting her disability, instead, it is quite the opposite. In this campaign, Target chose to emphasize that this little girl likes to get dressed up on Halloween, just like everybody else.
My guess is that she doesn’t get enough “just like everybody else” in her life. For the day the ad was photographed, she was simply a little girl. A pretty cute on at that.
Right on, Target! In terms of letting kids just be kids, you are right on Target!
